Captain's Log

Ahoy!

Admiral of Uncharted Academy

First Captain of UA Orange Park

Mother to four wonderful children

Proud Navy Veteren

After serving six years in the U.S. Navy and supporting my Active Duty spouse for an additional 10 years, I carried forward the values of resilience, leadership, and service into every area of my life. As a mother of four, I’ve homeschooled my children since 2018, which sparked my mission to reimagine what learning can look like, especially for children with unique learning needs.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration: Management and an MBA in Project Management, but my deepest lessons come from walking alongside students who learn differently. I am a strong advocate for reshaping special education by blending innovation with compassion, ensuring that barriers to learning become bridges to success.

At Uncharted Academy, I’ve charted a course where creativity, project-based learning, and multi-sensory approaches empower every child to thrive. Here, students don’t just follow a map, they help draw it.

Together, we are navigating uncharted waters, discovering new strengths, and proving that with the right guidance, every student can shine.

Captain’s Log:

Life at Uncharted Academy

  • August 2024 – Setting Sail
Uncharted Academy began with just three students gathered around my dining room table. A month later, two more joined, and with the enrollment of our sixth student we realized it was time to grow. That milestone marked the opening of our very first facility on Kingsley Avenue, where our small crew began to feel like a true academy.

  • October–December 2024 – Steady Growth
By October, seven more students had enrolled, and two more followed in December. Our classrooms filled with energy, curiosity, and laughter as the community continued to grow.

  • January–March 2025 – A Full Crew
The new year brought four more students in January and three more in March, closing out our first school year with a total of 22 students. What started at a dining room table had already grown into a thriving microschool in less than one year.

  • February 2025 – The Demand Grows
When we opened return student and new student applications, we were met with more than 50 applications—evidence of the increasing demand for our program. Families across the community were seeking a place where their children could learn in a supportive, personalized environment, and it was clear that we would need more room to welcome them.

  • May 2025 – Expanding Our Horizons
In response to this demand, we began preparing a new facility of nearly 4,000 square feet. This larger space gave us the opportunity to expand our programs, add resources, and continue building a strong foundation for the future of our students.

  • July 2025 – The Year of a New Schedule
On July 23rd, we launched our first year-round school schedule and welcomed five new teachers to support our growing student population. The classrooms came alive with new energy as students settled into routines and began charting their own learning journeys.

  • August 2025 – Welcoming the Community
August was full of fresh beginnings. Students stepped in front of the camera for school picture day, sharing big smiles that captured the excitement of the new year. Families and community members joined us on campus, giving students the chance to show off their classrooms and connect with the wider Uncharted community.

  • September 2025 – Learning in Action
In September, curiosity bubbled over—literally—as students built and erupted volcanoes while learning about the earth’s crust. The month closed with Field Day, where students raced, laughed, and cheered each other on before cooling off with Kona Ice to celebrate their hard work and teamwork.

With every student milestone, our journey sails forward.
